Product Review: Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse SPF50+ PA+++

At a Glance:
Price: RM32.90 (approx. US$8.89)
Weight: 33g
Made in: Japan
Likes: High SPF protection, non-sticky, keeps my face matte, no whitish cast, cheap! :)
Gripes: Clogged my pores big time, contains alcohol, broke me out!
Repurchase: No
Jenn's Rating: 3.5 Stars! Didn't work for me! :(

Product Description:

With SPF 50+/PA+++, Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse provides strong and long-lasting double protection against UVA and UVB rays. It contains Aqua Micro Capsules which release ‘water-like’ moisture, leaving skin feeling light, cool, healthy and hydrated. Its texture is non-sticky and non-greasy while it spreads easily and is quickly absorbed by skin. It works as a smooth makeup base to prepare skin for the makeup regimen.

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:

This sunblock is actually a creamy mousse! Texture wise it reminds me of a more fluid version of the MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation! :D I love how this spreads easily over my skin and didn't leave a sticky shiny film behind! :D

This is how i look wearing this:

Nice and matte! :D

This sunblock has a mild citrusy scent which i'm ok with.

This sunblock comes in a practical squeeze tube with a twist off cap, so it travels really well!

The dispensing hole's size is just right too:

And this is how it looks like brand new in pack! :D

Time Test:
Though it doesn't explicitly mentions that this is long wearing, i do feel sufficiently protected for about 6 hours! :)

Price & Availability:
This sunblock is priced at RM32.90 (approx. US$8.89). I got mine for about RM20 in Thailand on sale, but if memory serves me correctly it's retailing at 290 Baht each. This sunblock is found in most Watsons / Guardian outlets! :)

This is perfect under makeup since it's non-oily and non-sticky!! :D

My $0.02:

I think some of you know by now that my skin hates alcohol! But recently i have been testing out a few products containing this no-no ingredient for my skin, and it has been so good thus far. Until i started using this product! >.<

Within days, it clogged my pores so badly, and gave me bumps and small pimples all over my face! >.< A yucky picture to show you what am i talking about:

It's really a shame. I love how matte and non-sticky this product is, and the price doesn't hurt either. Sadly, like its Milky sister, it didn't work for me. So needless to say i won't be repurchasing this one!

Its Easter weekend! For those who are commemorating this event, i wish all of you a blessed time remembering our Saviour. For the rest, have a wonderful weekend! :D

Product Review: Tresemme Deep Cleansing Shampoo

At a Glance:

Likes: Not too drying despite being a clarifying shampoo, cleanses super well, cheap, easily available!
Gripes: Not really a gripe, but i wished this came in a clear bottle for obvious reasons! :)
Repurchase: Yes
Jenn's Rating: 4.5 Stars! Me really likey! :D :D

 • Refreshes hair for added body and shine
 • Use once a week (or as needed) for deep cleansing or every day for extreme build-up
 • Infused with Vitamin C, grapefruit and lemon

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:

This clarifying shampoo has a runny consistency. It doesn't lather up alot so i find that i have to use quite abit of product for my long hair!

I'm quite surprised (and happy) to report that unlike conventional clarifying shampoos, this doesn't dry out my hair at all - it just leaves it really clean! :D

This has a fresh fruity scent which i like! :D

This shampoo comes in the plastic bottle with a flip top cap. I would prefer if it comes in a clear bottle though so that i can tell how much product I have left!

The dispensing outlet:

Price & Availability:
This shampoo is priced at RM19.90 for 500ml. There's a bigger 900ml pump bottle available as well, that goes for RM23.90 per bottle. You can get this locally at most Watsons / Guardian outlets.

My $0.02:

After using this shampoo for several weeks, I have came to adore this product! :D

My scalp feels really clean and fresh after using this! The "fingernail-scrape" test proves its effectiveness - there's not a single bit of yucky buildup found under my nails after washing my hair with this product! :D

The part i love most about this product is that it doesn't dry out my hair despite it being a clarifying shampoo!! The usual ones turn my hair into hay right after, but with this, though my hair does feel drier than usual, but its nothing a basic conditioner cannot fix! Andddd, at that price, everybody can afford a bottle for themselves! :)

I can't really think of anything i dislike about this shampoo, except maybe the black opaque bottle. It would be nice if the bottle is transparent so that i can tell how much product I have left. But that's just a teeeny flaw that im more than willing to overlook! :D

All in all, methinks that this is a great drugstore product, and i'll surely repurchase for sure! :D

A Little Weekend Project...

I've been looking for a pair of plain black lace flats for awhile now, so I was super happy to find this pair (its really affordable too! Yay for cheap shoes! :D)! :D There's a small problem though: there's this huge satin knot across the front which i didn't like:

But no fret! Since I found out that the bow wasn't glued onto the surface of the shoe itself, i thought i could just snip it off! So armed with a scissors and some patience, snip it off did I! XD

The end result:

Tada!! My pretty lace flats!! <3

Before and After:

Did the same to the other side:

Now I can wear them out officially!! :D

Have you ever improvised and changed anything you bought, be it shoes, clothes or even bags? :D

MAC Jeanius + Viva Glam Gaga 2 Collections Review + Swatches! :D

Ok, this is like super overdue, but better late than never yeah? :D IMHO this denim inspired collection falls kinda flat if not for the beautiful shadows, but thats just me! :P See the empty slots in the displayer above? We did not get several items for this collection too! How so annoying! :(

Eye Shadow (US$19.50 / RM85):

The eyeshadows are definitely the stars of the show! With the exception of Diva in Distress which is a little chalky, the rest of the shadows apply shooo smoothly!

And of course, with that super pretty belt loop emboss on the surface, its no surprise that these shadows are flying off the shelves! :D

Too bad the copper rivet is just an overspray! I'll be so sad when its gone! :(

White Jeanius - White w/ silver pearl
Diva in Distress - Midtone grey w/ silver
Motorhead - Midtone dirty blue w/ copper pearl
Stovepipe Black - Black w/ copper pearl

Blushes (US$19.50 / RM75):

We did not get overdyed! :( Pink Cult is really beautiful! It really reminds me of my old Blooming blush, but smoother and more pigmented (and matte of course! :D)!

Pink Cult (Matte) - Midtone dirty neutral pink
Overdyed (Matte) - Bright magenta

Lipglasses (US$14.50 / RM65):

We did not get Painted On so no swatches for that yeah :( As you can see both colors are not terribly unique, but they're pretty nevertheless. Docile is a repromote from Fab Felines.

Painted On - Grayish beige w/ gold pearl
Docile - Chrome pink w/ gold
Indigo Pink - Deep burgundy w/ blue pearl

Lipsticks (US$14.50 / RM65):

Acid Washed is super super sheer! But when layered over another pigmented lipstick it just gives this super pretty sheen! :D

Acid Washed (Glaze) - Grayish beige w/ gold pearl
Pretty Please (Lustre) - Pale pink pearl. This one is permanent.
Riveting Rose (Frost) - Deep burgundy w/ blue pearl

Nail Lacquers (US$14 / RM42):

Frayed to Order is such a sweet pink! But its a little on the sheer side. Biker Blue is GORGEOUS!! But you need at least 3 coats to achieve a nice opaque finish! :)

Frayed to Order - White matte with soft pink duochrome pearl
Biker Blue - Black base w/ purple & blue pearl

Before i end lets take a quick look at the latest Viva Glam campaign featuring Lady G:

I MUCH preferred the color this time around compared to the original Viva Glam Gaga! This one is soo much more wearable on a daily basis!! :D

Thats all for now!! Happy weekend everyone! :D

MAC Quite Cute Collection Review + Swatches! :D

I had the privilege of previewing the Quite Cute collection, so here's some swatches for everyone! :D

This Harajuku inspired collection is just, well, quite cute! Pink, lavander and mint green are the main colors of this collection - who would know that greens and pinks go so well together! Girls who love their pastels will love this collection! :D

Ok lets go straight to the swatches! :D

Cute Eye Quad (US$36 / RM140):

All 4 colors in this quad swatches beautifully, but Moshi! Moshi! is a little on the powdery side. Pigmentation wise they could be better, but i guess these colours are meant to be soft and subtle :)

Moshi! Moshi! (Frost) - Pale white green gold
Goody Goody Gum Drop (Satin) - Light white pink
Boycrazy (Lustre) - Pale lavender with silver pearl pigments
Azuki Bean (Frost) - Mid-tone violet

Lipsticks (US$14.50 / RM65):

The lipsticks in this collection are quite pigmented surprisingly! I'm totally in love with Playing Koi, but we girls in Penang won't be getting this color *curses under breath*

Quite Cute (Cremesheen) - Bright white lavender
Playing Koi (Satin) - Creamy white peach pink.
Saint Germain (Amplified) - Pastel pink. This is permanent.
Play Time (Cremesheen) - Intense violet
Candy Yum-Yum (Matte) - Neon pink

Plushglasses (US$18.50 / RM65):

Ahhh, MAC finallllly releases a collection featuring the Plushglasses (the last i think was Naughty Nauticals wayyyy back in 2008!)! I personally like these because they make my lips look fuller somehow. I didn't get the tingly feeling some girls get from these glosses though!

The ones in this collection are kinda sheer, and methinks that they won't really show up on pigmented lips! :(

I ♥ U - Creamy mid-tone purple
Girl ♥ Boy - Bright light blue pink
Bubble Tea - Creamy pale nude
Fashion Fanatic - Creamy pale pink

Lip Pencils (US$13 / RM55):

These lip liners are repromotes from last year's Too Fab collection. If you love lipsticks you MUST get Naked - its just like lip concealer in a stick!! Too pretty!! <3

Naked - Light neutral
In Synch - Bright yellow pink
Boldly Bare - Mid-tone red brown

Nail Lacquers (US$14 / RM42):

These colors are SO CUTE!!! :D All 3 polishes go on streaky, so you'll need at least two coats for a nice opaque finish.

Mischievous - Creamy pale blue mint
Little Girl Type - Creamy pale lavender
Ice Cream Cake - Creamy blue pink

Mineralize Blushes (US$23 / RM100):

The Blushes were swatched in this order: left - large surface area, middle - heart, right - both colors swirled together.

With a cute heart in the middle, this blush is set to capture hearts! Hehehe!! :D However, the colors are just alright IMHO - boring and not universally flattering. Take Miss Behave for example - though the beige color is pretty, but when mixed with the mint this ghastly white shimmery color thats just not flattering! :(

Sakura - Lavender with pearly deep magenta heart
Giggly - Light pink with pearly plum heart
Miss Behave - Light beige with pearly mint green heart

Thats all for now! Didcha see anything you like from this collection? Or are you skipping it altogether? Spill! :D

Busy busy busy!!

What do you do when you're drowning under tons of work and assignments? Go drown yourself in the sea! lol! That's literally what i did last weekend!

I've been wanting to get my diver's license for YEARS now, but have never found the guts to do so! So when the opportunity arises to finally just go and get it done with already, i GRABBED it before i chickened out yet again! :D

My friends and I decided to do our Open Water Diver course at the prestine Perhentian Island. Was expecting this when we arrive:

But instead, behold, this is what we saw:

UGH, super gloomy weather with rough seas and strong currents! But there's no chickening out now! Off to class we went! >.<

The crew from Channel V Australia were there to do some kinda filming in our class, so let me know if you
see me on TV ya!! lol!! :P

After some classes and exams, we can finally hit the water! Viz was horrible due to the weather! There were times when i can't even see my hand in front of me clearly, and some other times the waves were so rough that my guts just threatens to empty breakfast through my regulator (fishes would be happy though! Feeding time! Ok gross but that DID happen to somebody in our group! lol! :D) >.<

But even through all that, the feeling of swimming under water and seeing all these amazing marine creatures is soo indescribably awesome. I could never understand why some divers are so passionate about diving until i've experienced it myself. Cliche but true! Just go try it already if you want to! :D

Super proud of myself for being able to complete this course. I for one are prone to panic attacks, and diving into the unknown just spells disaster for my mental wellbeing. But i'm glad i did it! Really no regrets! Ok, except maybe not getting myself a rash guard beforehand:

My horribly scratched up knees. Sooo itchy now! >.<

Now i can totally understand what they meant by this:

Amen! God willing i hope to go back soon to do my Advanced certification soon! Then i can bug the husband to finaaaaally take me to Sipadan! Hahaha!! :D

*ahem* Regular transmission shall resume soon. Oh scratch that. Work is piling up all the way to June so i'll probably be sporadic in posting. But do stay tuned - i have swatches coming up so keep reading! :D

Have a great weekend everyone! :D
