Yet another year has passed...

... and I'm sooo not looking forward to being another year older!! >.< Say whatever you want, but until i can accept the fact that humans do age and gravity seems to get stronger as time goes by, you'll be hearing me rant on and on about it!! :P

Lol!! On a more serious note - What have I achieved this year? What do I want to achieve in the next? Any regrets? These thoughts have been swimming in my head for the past few weeks. As much as I tend to take things for granted, i guess its good to sit down and reflect on the past year at least once a year! :)

1. Lose 7 kilos and fit into my old jeans again
I manage to lose 5 but gained back 2 for Christmas!! And oh, I can fit into my old jeans again!! Hurrah!! :D

2. To learn how to manage my anger better
Yes. I'm definitely more zen this year!! :D

3. Save X amount of money by the end of the year! :D
Oh dear... >.<

4. Spend not more than X amount of money on makeup!!
I finally did it!! *rushes off and rewards self with more makeup* Hehehe!! :D

5. To finish building my makeup storage!!

Yes!! Its done. And yes, a post on it is coming up soon, so stay tuned!! :D :D


For 2011, my resolutions are simple! :D

1. Lose that remaining 2 kgs and eat healthier! Need to tone up too!! >.<

2. Take better care of the rest of my body. Need to be more diligent with the lotion!! :D

3. Manage my time better! No more idling now that I'm going back to school!! :D

4. Learn something new everyday! They say your grey matter reduces as you age, so i better cram as much info as i can up there before it runs out of storage! lol! :D

5. Save X amount of money again! :D And no more not too many impulse purchases this year!! >.<

A super simple and cheap DIY hair mask! :D

I thought i'd switch Masking Mondays up a little and do a DIY hair mask post instead! Still hair mask is still mask right?? :D

I've been doing this from my high school days! :D I've read all about the wonders of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, whether as a skin moisturizer, hair mask or makeup remover, so being the curious cat that I am, I HAD to try it out! :D

I can still remember the first time I tried this clearly - it was after a bad episode of DIY hair straightening (remember those days when broom-straight hair was all the rage?? I couldn't be that old!!! :P), my hair was dry and scraggly and smelt horribly of ammonia! I couldn't afford a salon treatment then, so I thought of this! :D

I literally drenched my hair in it and covered my hair with a shower cap. By the time i rinsed it out an hour and a half later, my hair was soft and shiny again! How I wished I took a picture back then to show you all!! A dear friend of mine will remember this always because we both used the same thing (same stupid DIY hair straightening product, same marvelous Extra Virgin Olive Oil) and both of us experienced this amazing transformation! :D

Fast forward to now! Although I've found (and thoroughly enjoy) the joy of a salon pampering session, I still do this once in a while when I'm feeling poor I feel that my hair is in terrible shape. This never fails to give me soft and managable hair again!

Ok, enough grandmother's story for now. Lemme show you what am I using currently:



Basso Extra Virgin Olive Oil! This should be easy to find, and cheap too (less than RM15 per bottle)! I personally do not see a difference between an expensive EVOO and a cheaper one when used as a hair mask, but there is definitely a difference if you use just plain ol Olive Oil versus an Extra Virgin one (the latter softens much better)! :)

The method is simple - just saturate your hair with the oil. If you have an oily scalp, you may want to apply the oil only to the hair from your shoulder length and below. I personally apply it from root to tip and have no problem washing it off or it greasing up my hair! :) Massage the oil into your hair and leave it on for at least 30 minutes - I always leave it on for at least 1.5 hours. Then shampoo and condition as usual.

The result? Soft, shiny and "thicker" (feels that way anyway for me :P) hair! Simple right?? :D

I'm still a little iffy about applying this oil onto my face. But I've heard sooo many success stories of how this oil really moisturizes the skin, i'll have to admit that i'm quite tempted to just throw caution to the wind and try it for myself!! :P Will definite report when I do! Till then, it stays on my hair! :D

I'm totally thrilled to report that Kiehl's have found its way here!! *squeals with excitement* It's located on the ground floor of Gurney Plaza, just next to MAC! Oh dear... what a horrible nightmare this is for my wallet! :P lol!! I'm soooo lemming their Olive Fruit hair stuff, as well as their Calendula toner! Help!! >.<



They gave out the #1 Lipbalm for free! :D I've been wanting to try this lip balm out for ages, so I'm elated!! :D :D The nice SA gave me samples of stuff she think i might like too! :D



Also, my favouritest RM5 store is coming sooooon! :D It's at the 1st Floor, North Zone of Queensbay Mall (just beside Shoe Point / Opposite Maybank)! :D



Can't wait for it to open soon! I need more storage for my evergrowing makeup collection kitchen stuff! :P

This shampoo is quite runny, and it doesn't lather up a whole deal so I find that i have to use quite a bit of product for my waist long hair.



This smells like an old lady's perfume, which I don't like! >.<

This shampoo comes in the usual plastic bottle with a flip top cap. It travels well! :)

This shampoo is priced at RM11.90 and should be available at all Watsons / Guardian outlets as well as you local supermarket! :) There's a bigger 400ml bottle available, and that goes for RM18.90 each! :)

Ok, this review is wayyyyy overdue! But since it's still available on the shelves so I guess its still relevant yeah? :P

I bought this shampoo together with its Hair Mask sister last year, and when used together, i didn't really liked the effect, so this got ignored while i went through several bottles of the other two shampoos i rotate with. One fine day while cleaning out my shower rack, I thought that I'd give this one a final spin before tossing it out, and lo and behold, I really liked it, especially when paired with the Pantene Hair Fall Control Conditioner! :D

That combi gives me super soft, bouncy and silky hair like never before! I even liked this so much that my beloved Clairol Herbal Essences Shampoo got ignored for awhile! lol!! :D

The only thing i didn't like about this shampoo is its scent. It's musky and it makes me feel 30 years older!! >.< Thankfully the scent doesn't really last so it's still alright.

All in all I'm loving this shampoo, and I'll repurchase next time! I want to try out their Color Care range next!! :D :D

This is a gorgeous glossy black with large silver particles! Two coats gives a beautifully opaque finish! :)

This nail polish, though thick, it applies smoothly and it dries quickly. This smells like nail polish!! lol!! :D

This nail polish comes in a glass bottle with the usual brush applicator attached to the cap! The brush is a little shorter than I prefer, but it works well nevertheless.



Time Test:
This lasts more than a week on my digits with only one small chip! :D

This is definitely an impulse purchase because you know i'm not crazy over nail polishes! I was simply smitten by the dark glossy black and pretty silver particles!! :D

This polish applies like a dream and dries in a jiffy too. Most importantly, it lasts and lasts on me, which is amazing considering most polishes don't even last through a hair wash everytime!! :D

Still no chips!! Amazing yeah?? :D :D

According to her, it applies beautifully too, and this photo is taken after a week. As you can see, it has minimal chips, which is amazing considering that she is a kindy teacher!! lol!! :D

All in all i really like this polish, and will repurchase if its available again! :D

Like the other masks from the luxury range, this really moisturizes and brightens well. But this one is definitely superior in terms of its brightening power! lol!! Look at how bright my skin is:
