Actual Product Pic:

Pigmentation & Color:

This gel liner comes in 2 colors - the basic black and brown, as well as a limited edition blue! All 3 colors have some shimmers to them. They're quite pigmented and you get a nice opaque line with only one stroke! :)

01 Black:

02 Brown:

S03 Blue:

Texture & Scent:
All 3 colors have a smooth buttery texture that dries quickly! However, i find that these liners dry up quickly. They're rather hard already after 2 months although i made sure to screw the lid back on tightly as well and store them upside down! :(

This one smells like, you know, gel liners! lol!! XD

These liners come in a small glass far with a metal cap, which i find terribly cute!! :D To give you an idea of how small these jars are:

Here's the packaging they came in:

I usually find brushes provided on pack to be somewhat disappointing and of substandard quality, but this one is different! The firm bristles are just right to line your eyes nicely:

They do not splay or shed too!! Me really likes it!! :D

Time Test:
These liners lasted more than 14 hours on me if i'm in an air conditioned place. If the weather is humid, i find that these starts to fade at around the 6th hour!

Price & Availability:
These liners go for RM39.90 each, and should be available at most Maybelline displayers in Watsons / Guardian / your local supermarket. Girls in the US can get this off Walmart and Ulta! :)

My $0.02:

Ok, i know, it's been AWHILE since i got these liners!! But there's just so many things to review so this got put aside for sometime! Oh well, time to remedy that now! :P

These mini pots of liners are definitely drugstore gems IMHO - they're pigmented and oh so creamy so they apply like a dream, plus with that price it won't burn a hole in your wallet! Furthermore, the brush that comes with it is really good too!! :D

Unfortunately, this does fade and flake if your out and about in our humid climate! But thankfully it doesn't smudge so no panda eyes! Another thing - I find that these dries up in the pot really quickly!! Mine was barely opened 2 months and it's already kinda hard to work with! :(

Ok, as usual, here're some pics for you to see for yourself! This "experiment" is done during a hot day without using any primer underneath (I love testing worst case scenarios!! :P)! :D The picture on the left is freshly applied, and the one on the right, 8 hours later! :D

As you can see, the line is still there, but it faded a bit. Also it flaked on me! Cloze-up of the flakies:

All in all, methinks that this is truly a drugstore gem, and i'll repurchase - but with so many gel liners out there in the market, it'll take some time before i come back to this one!! :D I wish they would make that Blue shade permenant - it's just GORGEOUS!! :D

Now with this review done, i have another mission to accomplish - review the Loreal Superliner Gel Liners, which are still nicely packed and brand new in their boxes!! *sweats*

  1. OMG!! Jenn~~How come u got Blue?? I want..I saw Sg selling the purple one too. :(

  2. I bought my Limited Edition Blue gel liner a year ago... apparently Maybelline Limited Edition wasn't that 'limited' anyway... hahahaha... I like this gel liner initially but after a few months used, i find it difficult to even out in terms of drawing an even color line on lids unlike KATE gel liner... no idea is it because of the gel getting dries up but mine is still soft and yes, it's flakes like Kate too...I'm still prefer Kate gel liner than Maybelline...

  3. that's really LONG ago when u bought :P i think about the same time as me right? :P

  4. slowbrogal: yeah... it was available for a short while when they first launched these liners here!! Purple sounds gorgeous!!!! :D

  5. Syn@3sTh3sI@: It's quite "limited" here though!! It was sold out quickly!! Hehehe!! :D

Mine's slightly hard after 2 months but still "useable" la - just need to apply a few times!

  6. Gaby: You're most welcome!! :D

  7. Xin: Hahahaha yeah!! =X Shhhhh feel so shy now!! >.<

  8. i love this product! i have Black and Brown.

  9. Once I started on gel eyeliners, it's so hard to go back to liquid liners coz it was so easy! Unfortunately, the blue shade is limited edition in Malaysia :(

Still prefer Bobbi Brown's gel eyeliners though :P

  10. thanks Jenn for linking me up! :) I am intrigued with the blue! I wonder if we have it down here!

  11. Canmake has nice gel liners. It's also a drugstore offering with an affordable price tag. Hope you can find it around. =)

  12. Shopcoholic: Thats great!! :D Black and brown are such must have colors!! :D :D

  13. Jen: I agree!! Gel liners are so much more easier to use than liquid liners!! :D

Yeah its a shame that the blue shade is LE!! Its so pretty! :D

  14. Nikki: you're most welcome hun!! I hope the Blue shade is available there!! :D

  15. Ivy: Thanks for sharing dear!! Somehow Canmake always slips under my radar!! But i'll keep a lookout for them the next time i go gel liner shopping!! :D
