Product Review: MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer

At a Glance:
Price: US$16.50 / RM72
Website: Maccosmetics.com
Weight: 5.5 g /0.19 US OZ
Made in: Italy
Likes: Great coverage, lasts the entire day!
Gripes: Abit hard to blend!
Repurchase: Yes!
Jenn's Rating: 4 Stars! Me likey! :D

Ingredients:

Product Description

A creamy concealer that provides full coverage with a natural matte finish. Brushes on with enough blend time to conceal any size of blemish. Rich formulation allows you to use a micro-amount of product to even out skin. Water-resistant and long-wearing.

Actual Product Pic:

Pigmentation & Color:

This concealer comes in 15 shades, 7 warm (NC) and 8 cool (NW) tones. Since i'm buying this primarily to cover my dark eye circles, i chose a NW shade, and am matched to NW20! :D

This concealer is really pigmented so you'll only need a tiny amount to cover your blemishes!

Texture & Scent:

This concealer is thick, so be careful not too apply too much otherwise it'll look cakey! See that amount on my finger in the above pic? it's enough to cover almost the entire back of my hand:

It spreads and blends really well, and i like that it doesn't settle into fine lines too! :D

This concealer has a weird plasticky scent that's not very pleasant, but thankfully it's really mild so i don't smell it on my skin! lol!

Packaging:

This concealer comes in a glass jar with a screw on lid, which i don't really like because of hygiene issues! :P

This is how big it is:

And the box it came in:

Time Test:
While it did fade a little, this concealer lasted more than 13 hours on my skin!! :D

Price & Availability:
This concealer is priced at US$16.50 / RM72 and is available at all MAC stores / counters as well as their website! :)

My $0.02:

I tried this one out at my counter when i checked out the Well Defined collection, and am pretty impressed with it! :D

This concealer, though thick, spreads on easily and doesn't settle into fine lines! Its also less drying that its Studio Finish counterpart!

Ok enough talking, here's a side by side comparision for ya! :D

Zits? Covered! Dark eye circles? Covered! Freckles? Almost covered! haha!! That's cuz i didn't want to apply too thick a layer on my cheeks, so i let them slide! XD

The only thing i didn't like about this one is that its a bit hard to blend. I gotta be careful to use just a bit of product each time and slowly build up the coverage, otherwise it'll look cakey. But the end result is so worth it! :D

All in all i really like this product, and i think i'll repurchase when it runs out, provided there's nothing new on the market that catches my eye at that time! hehehe!! :D

Kate Deep Eyes Palette Swatches

Here're all the swatches for the Kate Deep Eyes Palettes!! I noticed that on the website, the BU-1 is not available (not sure if it's been discontinued!)! There's a GN-1 palette which wasn't available at the time i swatched these palettes, so i apologize for this missing one! Plue has swatches of this one here, so go check it out! :D

Also, pardon the crappy mall lighting, this is the best i can get! As usual, the swatches above are taken without flash, and the ones below, with!

I find these shadows pretty good, but not as pigmented as the Majolica Majorca Shadow Customizes. I personally do not like the narrow shadows at the X because i think it'll be kinda hard to use a fluffy brush there!!

These palettes go for RM52 each and are available at some Watsons and most Sasa outlets :)

Product Review: My Beauty Diary Platinum Nanocolloid Mask 我的美丽日记璀璨白金篇白金保湿面膜

At a Glance:
Price: RM6.50 (approx. US$1.76)
Website: http://beautydiary.com.tw
Weight: 30g
Made in: Taiwan
Likes: Moisturizes and brightens face really well!! :D
Gripes: Sheet is a bit flimsy, not available locally!
Repurchase: Yes!! :D
Jenn's Rating: 4.5 Stars! Me really likey!! :D

Ingredients:

Product Description

English description (Taken from their website):

Platinum Nano Fights against Age
Japanese platinum nano material has great anti-aging effect by preventing drying and dullness of skin.

Japan-introduced mask material, fragrance and alcohol free:
Introduced from Japan, the highly fitting mask material is 100& fragrance-and alcohol-free. With gentle and pure texture, it offers the skin a fresh feel without discomfort.

Low Electronic potential makes prolonged moisturization possible:
It absorbs moisture content in skin, increases moisture retention and prolongs skin hydration.

Nano-Biotech Double Vehicle:
A combination version of nanospheres and MLC, multi-layer capsulation, seals active ingredients in multiple layers of bio substances, then through a controlled time-released effect the ingredients, works on skin by degrees and so are absorbed more easily in epidermis.

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:
My, this mask is really wet! Even after 30 minutes it's still wet enough for me to apply it to my whole body! hehehe!! :D This one does leave a slight sticky feel after you massage the essence in, but that feeling goes away in about 15 minutes or so. This is fragrance free, but it does have the typical "fragrance-free" scent! :D

Packaging:

This mask is individually packed into a foil wrapping like your usual sheet masks. It also comes in a box of 10 i believe.

This mask is much thinner than the ones from the usual line, so i guess it does give a better fit.

However it is easily torn though (like what happened to me when i used the Camellia mask, so be careful whilst using this!

Time Test:
20-30 minutes, which is a little long! :P

Price & Availability:
This mask is priced at about RM6.50 each, but can be cheaper or more expensive depending on seller. I bought mine from beauty_zone33 from Lowyat.net. There're lots of other sellers there as well!! I haven't seen this particular one in Guardian though, so i guess its not available there! :(

Usage:
Since this moisturizes well and brightens my face really nicely, its perfect for a weekly skin boost! :D

My $0.02:

To be frank, i cannot really tell the difference between this one and the Camellia mask! They work very very similar for my skin - both brightens really well and moisturizes my skin nicely! Ok, if i'd be picky, this one brightens just a little (really just a little) bit better, but other than that they're virtually identical! lol!! :D

Here's how i look after using this:

Soft and glowy skin after using this! :D I'll definitely repurchase! hehehe!! :D

Product Review: Sunplay SPF130 PA++ Super Block

At a Glance:
Price: RM32.90 (approx. US$8.89)
Website: Sunplay.com.tw
Weight: 35g
Made in: China
Likes: High SPF protection, goes on clear without any goopy feel! :)
Gripes: None!
Repurchase: Yes!!! :D
Jenn's Rating: 5 Stars! Holy Grail Stuff! :D

Ingredients:

Product Description:
  • Highest SPF 130 for long hour protection against UVA and UVB
  • Japan "Watery Liquid" formulation is non greasy and non-sticky. Its water-like texture is extremely light & smooth on skin. Helps prevent premature aging.
  • Super water proof formula which does not require frequent re-application.
  • Non-comedogenic (does not clog pores).
  • Ideal for long hour outdoor sports and water activities.

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:

This sunblock is rather watery so it spreads nicely on your skin! Because of this, be careful not to tilt your bottle too much when you dispense the product to prevent product wastage! I think they have reformulated this one because this now feels more moisturizing than the previous one i've bought, which is great because i actually find the old one a bit drying! Once on, it absorbs into your skin quickly without leaving any sticky feel behind, and i love that it does not leave a whitish cast or make my face shiny! :D

This is how i look wearing this:

Nice and Matte with no whitish cast!! love!! :D

This doesn't really have a scent to it! :)

Packaging:

This sunblock comes in a little shaker bottle with a twist off cap. Since this product is so watery, i really like how small the dispensing hole is:

And this is how it looks like in the pack! :D

Time Test:
This sunblock lasts the entire afternoon for me if i do not expose myself to strong sunlight / water! I do feel the need to reapply every 2-3 hours if i'm at the beach in the afternoon! :)

Price & Availability:
This lotion is priced at RM32.90 (approx. US$8.89), but it's almost always on sale! This sunblock is found in most Watsons / Guardian outlets! :)

Usage:
I do not recommend using this daily, so i'd reserve it for days when i know i'll be exposed to alot of sun! :D

My $0.02:

Eh, i didn't realise that i never reviewed this little drugstore gem before! :D

I have nothing but praises for this product, more so now since they reformulated it to be more moisturizing! I wore this two saturdays for a charity car wash where there's sun and lots of water, and this protected my face perfectly through the 2 hour ordeal nicely! I did not get darker or sunburnt, but my husband did, so i'm really grateful for this product! lol! :D

All in all this is a wonderful product i know i can count on whenever i need that extra sun protection! I'll definitely repurchase! :D
