Jenn Asks: Do you think Blue Eye Shadows are appropriate for the office?

I personally love blue shadows so i wear them quite often to the office but i've definitely gotten some stares and questions like "going dating tonight?" so it makes me wonder if they're suitable for the office or not!!

What'dya think? :D

Product Description
For centuries, Bird's Nest has been recognised as one of the most valuable beauty supplements. With its nourishing power, Watsons Bird's Nest Essence Facial Mask leaves your skin silky smooth, with a natural radiance.

Other key benefits include:
  • Maintains skin's youthful glow and fairness
  • Energises skin to enhance natural resilience and preserve vitality of skin.
Each mask contains 30ml essence.

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:
My, you REALLY do get 30ml of product in this mask!! What i usually do is i will squeeze the foil containing the mask then put the mask out so that the excess essence will drip into the foil pack instead of all over the floor, but this mask STILL drips after i did that so you're really getting your money's worth! lol! This mask smells like some kinda perfume (which for the life of me i can't remember!! Grrr...), but the smell disappears quickly!

Packaging:

This mask is individually packed into a foil wrapping like your usual sheet masks. It also comes in a box of 6.

This sheet mask is a little big for my face, hence it doesn't fit very well! Here's how it looks on my face:

I look like an alien this time!! lol!! :D

Time Test:
15-20 minutes is all you need to use this mask! :)

Price & Availability:
This mask is priced at RM7.90 each, and should be available at most Watsons outlets in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines! :)

Usage:
I usually use my sheet masks after a deep cleansing mask like a clay mask or the aspirin mask to moisturize my face! I also use it on its own sometimes as a treat! :D

Tip: Do store your masks in the fridge before using for an ultra-relaxing treat! :D

My $0.02:
I bought this mask on a whim, since i've heard raves for it and decided "what the heck"! lol!! :D This mask isn't exactly cheap for a house brand, but i'm really impressed by it!! First of all, like i've mentioned above, you really get ALOT of essence with this. I wiped my entire body with the remaining essence and it's still quite moist after that!! Amazing!! I also like how glowy and plump this made my skin felt!!

The only thing i didn't like about this mask is that it leaves your skin feeling rather tacky!! That shouldn't be a problem for those who sleeps in an air conditioned room, but for those who don't (or are going out after this, or just simply do not like the sticky feeling) you may want to rinse your face after using this mask!! :D The stickiness does disappear after 15 minutes or so though! :)

Here's how i look after using this mask:

See how glowy my face is? :D If you squint, you can still see the tacky essence on my skin though!! :D

Overall, methinks this is a great drugstore mask that works beautifully! I will repurchase for sure! :)

Product Review: Lancome Baume Eclat Balm-to-Oil Massage Cleanser

At a Glance:
Price: RM100 (approx. US$27.77)
Website: Lancome.com.sg
Weight: 125ml / 4.2 Fl. Oz.
Made in: France
Likes: Removes waterproof makeup effectively, very nice smell!
Gripes: Leaves an oily film on skin, does not remove glitters well
Repurchase: No
Jenn's Rating: 4 Stars! Me Likey

Ingredients:
NA

Product Description:
A MAKE-UP REMOVER SOFT AS A CREAM, EFFICIENT AS AN OIL, LIGHT AS A MILK

All skin types, even sensitive.
Rinse off.

Its unique texture melts from balm to oil to milk and gently liberates the skin from impurities and toxins deep inside. Wipe off, or rinse off to discover the transformation of oil into milk – maximum efficacy in a cocoon of softness. Face, eyes and lips.

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:

This cleanser starts out as cream, so it's a little solid. After massaging it around, the cream will feel more and more oily, and when it finally mixes with water, it emulsifies. This cleanser has a really lovely scent that i like! However, try NOT to get any of this cleanser into your mouth while washing it, because it leaves a horrible taste in your mouth for a good 15 minutes!! Yuck!!

Packaging:

The tube i have is a sample, but it looks somewhat like the real thing. I'm hoping that the real one has a small opening like this one instead of a huge one like the Neurowhite facial cleanser:

Time Test:
I find that i need to spend more time massaging my face to get rid of all the makeup - typically slightly more than 5 minutes :)

Price & Availability:
This cleanser is priced at RM100 (approx. US$27.77) and should be available at all Lancome counters in South Asia and the UK. It's also available for sale on Strawberrynet.com for US$25.50!

Usage:
I use this like a cleansing oil - to remove sunblock and makeup. Do read my MAC Cleansing Oil review for a step by step tutorial on my to use this cleanser.

My $0.02:

I was given two very generous samples of this by my very generous SA! :D Much to my surprise, this cleanser really does takes off heavy duty stuff like waterproof mascara and liquid liner!! I like how gentle this is on my skin, and oh, the smell is soooo lovely!!

This is before (FOTD here):

And this is after:

Looks very clean right? However, upon closer inspection, there're still tiny glitters around my eye area that this cleanser couldn't get rid off:

So i would definitely recommend using a makeup remover to take off your eye and lip makeup before using this!

Other than this, i did not like the oily feeling it left on my skin after washing my face too!! Though that oily feeling disappears after awhile, I personally prefer my cleansers to rinse clean! And also like i mentioned somewhere up there, DO NOT get any of this cleanser into your mouth... the taste is HORRIBLE and it STAYS in your mouth!! Yuck!!

Overall i would say that this is a not bad product, but i personally won't repurchase because i feel the MAC one does a better job at removing makeup (and is cheaper too). And oh, before i forget, how can i not post a pic of this:

This is how you'll look like when you're done massaging your eye area!! I look like a bandit!! hehehe!! :D

Product Review: Nexcare Acne Patch by 3M

At a Glance:
Price: RM11.75 (approx. US$3.26)
Website: Nexcare-acnepatch.com
Weight: 36 pcs
Made in: NA
Likes: Sucks out the pus from pimples, great way to prevent contamination from touching!
Gripes: Does nothing for "headless" pimples
Repurchase: No
Jenn's Rating: 4 Stars! Me Likey! :D

Ingredients:
Polyisobutene, Polyisoprene, Cellulose Gum, Croscarmellose.

Product Description:
You don't have to cancel all your date and hide in the room. Use Nexcare™ Acne Patch to get rid of your acne problem.

Nexcare™ Acne Patch is a water-based material that absorbs the oil secretion and pus from your acne. It also acts as a protective layer that prevents bacteria infection.

With Nexcare™ Acne Patch, you can treat your acne and meet your friends with confidence!

Features:

  • Waterproof and breathable
  • Prevents infection
  • Fast absorption of oil secretion
  • Soothes burns and aches
  • Convenient & easy application

Actual Product Pic:

Texture:

This patch feels kinda "springy" and it's thicker than the usual band aids! It adheres to your skin well (make sure that the area's dry before applying!) and it stays on the whole night! The instructions say that you should apply this patch before makeup, but i DO NOT recommend wearing this patch out because yes, people CAN see it from a mile away:

I censored my face because i look really constipated *slaps forehead*

Packaging:

I bought the pack of 36 one. It comes in a yellow cardboard box! The actual patches are found in a sterile pack within:

The patches:

This pack of 36 ones have patches of two sizes, so use them according to the size of your pimple! :D

Time Test:
It took only one night for this patch to get rid of all the pus from my pimple!!

Price & Availability:
This pack of 36 costs RM11.75 (approx. US$3.26). There're also the pack of 7 which costs RM3.80 (approx. US$1.05) and the pack of 18 which costs RM6.70 (approx. US$1.86). They're available at most Watsons outlets.

Usage:
I stick this over pimples that have a "head"!

My $0.02:

I bought this after i tried out the Garnier Pure SOS Blemish Clear Pen. While it did work fast to make my zits less angry, it took almost 2 weeks to clear off all my acne, which is really just too long! I've been seeing this around in Watsons for sometime, and so i decided to give it a try!

I'm glad to report that it DOES work wonderfully, BUT ONLY on those pimples with a "head" aka pus aka "riped ones". Within one night, it sucks out all the pus into the patch:

It's not very nice to look at, but you get the point. lol!

However, it does nothing for my pimples after that. Pics to prove:

As you can see from the pics above, the "head" disappeared after one application, but 5 days later, those "bumps" were still there!! Bummer...

So my conclusion is, this is a wonderful solution for those of us who LOVE to pop our pimples! Since squeezing zits (though fun!!) causes bacteria contamination and sometimes leaves a scar, this is a perfect way to prevent that yet still gets rid of all that gunk! I will not repurchase this simply because i find that the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask works better and faster to heal my pimples completely!

MAC Hello Kitty Collection Review & Swatches, plus some Bad News :'(

Warning: Quite picture heavy. 56 Kbps-sers beware!

Ok, this is probably OLD stuff to some of you, but poor me only gotta check the MAC Hello Kitty collection out yesterday so you gotta bear with me and read all my blabla k! Nyahahaha!! :P

This was launched here in Bangalore on Friday, two whole months and somemore since it's officially launched in the states! *yawns* Thankfully, i wasnt really looking forward to this collection so the wait was alright!

The Hello Kitty collection launch over here was soooo disappointing!! No balloons, no models, no free totes, not even a friggin post card! *sobs* I want a MAC Kitty balloon soo bad! :(

Ok, enough ranting for now, let's go on to the reviews! As expected, this collection was really blah in person! If this wasn't a MAC anniversary one i would've skipped everything and would have an even more impressive "record" of not buying anything MAC (It's been 5 months already, dear Husband!! hehehe...)! The best items from this collection? Definitely the Tinted Lip Conditioners and the Pigments!!

Tinted Lip Conditioners (TLCs):

These TLCs definitely lived up to their hype!! They apply soo smoothly, and the colors were GORGEOUS! Nowonder they're flying off the shelves! Pink Fish is a lovely milky pink, whilst Popster is a bright coral! Too bad i'm not a fan of lipbalms in a pot and i don't think i'll have much use for these two since i seldom use tinted balms, otherwise i would definitely bring them home with me (plus backupS!!)!!

Pigments and Reflect Glitters:

If you MUST get something from this collection, do get the pigments!! Both colors are reaaaaally gorgeous with great pigmentation and they apply sooo smoothly!! Milk is a lovely lilac color whilst Deep Blue Green is well, Deep Blue Green! lol!! Once again i didn't buy them just because i don't know how to use pigments, but be assured that they're really great! :D

The Reflects Glitters are part of the PRO permanant line, but it may as well be LE for those of us who don't have a PRO store nearby! lol! They're super pretty when layered over eyeshadows!!

Lipsticks:

The lipsticks in this collection are definitely sheer, with Cute-ster being the most sheer and Big Bow the most pigmented. There's nothing special about them IMHO, they're definitely skippable! Fashion Mews is missing because they will not be bringing this in locally!! T_T

Lipglasses:

If you think the lipsticks are sheer, the lipglasses are worse! Mimmy and Fast Friends looked virtually identical on my hand if it weren't for the differently colored glitters they each have! I'll have to say that She Loves Candy looks great though!! :D

Palettes:

With the exception of Lucky Tom (which is a little chalky and hard to blend... Lustres go kiss my bottom!), the rest of the colors applies smoothly! I wished they were more pigmented though!!

I'm not sure if i'm the odd one out, but methinks that the colors in this palette clash like nobody's business!! =X Show me someone who can wear all 4 colors out in perfect harmony without looking foolish and i'll retract my statement!! lol!! Yogurt is like, really really chalky! Ewws. Stately Black is not alot better! Actually Romping and Too Dolly are quite decent, too bad they had to be grouped in the same palette with the two other yucky ones! lol!! XD

Beauty Powders:

Pretty Baby is a repromote from the Diana Ross collection. It is terribly chalky and sheer!! The swatch above is achieved after swiping approximately i dunno, 7 times? Ugh! Tahitian Sand is also a repromote from the Catherine Deneuve collection. This one is sooo much better than Pretty Baby! It's quite pigmented for a beauty powder, and it gives a very very faint pearlish sheen to your skin!

Beauty Powder Blushes:

The Beauty Powder Blushes have the most wonderfulest texture IMHO!! They apply so smoothly, plus they're pretty pigmented! Tippy is a bright blue pink that can look pretty scary if applied too heavily on the cheeks! lol! Fun & Games is a lovely peachy color that would brighten up almost any complexions! :)

Glitter Liners:

The glitter liners are quite pretty actually, though i don't know how practical a pink one like Kitty Power would be! My MA was just wearing Her Glitz alone on her upper lids and i thought she looked great!! :D

Nail Lacquers:

Eh i know my nails are very stubby and ugly, try not to stare at them ok! :(

Like most MAC polishes, these go on a little streaky. I personally loved Something About Pink!! It's such a bright happy shade! :D

After reading all this blabla, you must be wondering which items i got myself right? :D Here's a teaser:

Ahaha, you can probably tell which blush i got... but you gotta guess what other items did i get first before scrolling down to find out!! :D Eh, no checking out my wishlist on the left!! hahaha!! :D

Okla, shall not tease you further! I got the:

I thought the embossed Kitty was a really nice touch!! :D

Wait, that's not all!! I bought something else:

Cloze-up:

I know i said i wasn't sure whether this will work for my narrow crease or not in my BBR Review. But after playing with this for awhile i realised that it does fit my narrow crease! So i brought it back home with me!! :)

One happy family potrait for the record:

And oh, i did manage to meet the owner of MAC Bangalore today, which was pretty cool! :D I'm also thankful to my MA Sabrina for being so patient with me and allowing me to take pictures of everything! :) Most of all, i thank my dearest husband for bringing me there, patiently waiting for me to swatch everything plus help me close back the lids, handing me tissues to wipe my hand, giving me his opinions and most importantly, paying for the stuff!! *hugsssss*

Ok, thats all for the happy stuff! You must be wondering what the bad news is right? The bad news is, that we will not get the Grand Duos and Sugarsweet collections here in Bangalore!!! *wails* I know i said i'm going to skip both collections, but i needed to get something from the Grand Duo collection for a friend, and i'm now CONVINCED that i NEED to own the Bubbles lipstick! lol! The good news is that my MA said she'll try to get those for me (plus a Hello Kitty postcard! :D) if she could when she goes overseas next month, so i'm really looking forward to hearing some good news from her soon! :D

I'm guessing it'll be awhile until my next haul at MAC. Hopefully that gives me more time to ponder and strike out more stuff from my wishlist! lol!!

What was your latest MAC purchase? :D
