Newsflash!!

Remember the Diva stuff i got for only RM8 each that i mentioned earlier? A few days after i got my stuff, the whole store closed down, much to my dismay!! :(

However, there's something new in store for all of us Penang girls!! In place of Diva, we will soon have:

Etude House!!! *squeals*

The target completion date of the renovation works was stated as 09/03, so i'm guessing that they should be open by mid or latest by end March!! Go check their stuff out for me k!! :D

As for myself, i'll be cancelling my internet connection later, so i guess i'll only see you guys when i'm back in India on Sunday! It kinda suck to have to end my "holiday" and go back there after 6 great weeks back home... i feel like crying already :(

Wish me a safe journey back there ya!! In the meanwhile, stay pretty and take care until we meet again! :D

Maybelline Angelfit Brighten-up Blush swatches and mini review of the Maybelline Angelfit Flawless Affinity Foundation!

I was looking out for the new Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals loose powder after reading it on Plue's site! I went to Guardian first - the stocks were in, but no testers were available! Fine, i went to Watsons next - even worse - the displayer was up, but the stocks were not in yet!! A little pissed off, i went to Sasa next, same case as Guardian, the stocks were in but no testers. One last stop, the little Maybelline corner in Jusco - same case as Watsons - displayer is up but no stocks yet!! *wails* i guess it's just my luck to not be able to check this out before i go back to India!! :'( :'(

My only consolation was to be able to swatch the new Angelfit blush for you girls!! I hope some of you will find this useful! :D

Never Streaky, Always Luminous.
The Perfect Blush for a Perfect Flush!

Bring out your natural beauty. Radiant Pearls and pure color pigments diffuse light to highlight your complexion for luminous color that blends perfectly with your skintone, just like an angel.

There are 4 colors to choose from, and out of those 4, the first two listed below are rather matte and the last 2 are a little shimmery. All 4 colors are quite pigmented so methinks one swipe should be enough for the color to show on your cheeks! These go for RM29.90 (approx. US$8) each and should be available at most Watsons and Guardian outlets :)

As usual, the swatches on top are taken without flash, and the ones below, with! :)

From left: 05 Peachy Sweetie, 02 Strawberry, 07 Velvel Apricot, 06 Creamy Cinnamon

Some of you asked me about the Flawless Affinity foundation from the same line some time back.

I tried it on the back of my hand on that same day, and i'm really surprised at how fine the powder is! It blends into my skin without looking unnatural, plus it doesn't sit into the fine lines on my hand!! The SPF is definitely a plus too!! This powder comes in 6 shades, and is sold for RM39.90 each. They sell refills for this product too!

HTHs! :)

Texture & Scent:

This lotion is a little runny, so it speads very well on your skin! :) The scent smells similar to the other Nivea body lotions - a clean, powdery soft scent which i like! :D

Packaging:

I bought the smaller bottle, so this one comes in a 75ml squeeze bottle with a flip top closure! There's another bigger one which contains 400ml and it comes with a pump.

Time Test:
This lotion took about 10 minutes or so to sink in, and my skin feels moisturized for about half a day before i have reapply.

Price & Availability:
This lotion is priced at RM6.70 which i think is pretty affordable! The 400ml pump version is priced at RM23.60. This lotion should be available at most Guardian / Watsons outlets and your local supermarket! :)

Usage:
I apply this liberally unto my limbs and body at night before i go to bed! :)

My $0.02:
I've gone through several bottles of the good ol' Whitening Milk Repair during my college days and i loved it, so i thought that i'll give this "extra whitening" version a try! :D

I cannot comment on the whitening power of this lotion because i went tanning in Langkawi so that really "defeated" whatever whitening this has done for my skin, lol! But in terms of moisturization power it is pretty decent for a drugstore product!! This product got rid of my scaly legs within a week of daily application!! :D I like the scent too as it reminds me of my college days!! :D

All in all i would recommend this to those who wants fairer skin for their bodies or simply looking for an affordable body lotion!! :D

How does it work?

Pure SOS Blemish Clear Pen has been designed for optimum efficiency and fast results:
  • Dry imperfections immediately
  • Smooth skin irregularities and marks
  • Reduce imperfections in 5 hours

Actual Product Pic:

The Box it came in:

Texture & Scent:

This gel is slightly thick (feels a little like melted jello! lol!), so you'll need a little more product to spread it evenly! It dries a little tacky so try not to touch your face after you've applied it, lol!! This gives a cooling sensation when applied due to the Alcohol and menthol in it! Also, it has a rather strong fresh perfumey smell so those with sensitive skin should use this with caution!!

Packaging:

This gel comes in a squeeze tube about 4 inches long, which is really portable! :D

The tip is slanted for "precise" application, but i find applying the product with a Q-tip more hygenic!! :P

Time Test:
This product claims to work within 5 hours, and i'm happy to report that it does! :) I dabbed it unto a pimple, and within a few hours it is less red!

However, it takes AGES for the pimple to clear away! For my case (remember the breakout on my forehead mentioned here?), it took 2 whole weeks to heal!

Price & Availability:
This gel is priced at RM12.90, and should be available at most Guardian / Watsons outlets, as well as the Garnier section of your supermarket! :)

Usage:
I dab this unto my pimples twice a day until they heal completely! :)

My $0.02:
My husband dislikes the pungent smell of tree tree oil (which works wonderfully for me), so i had to get something that smells a little less (ok, ALOT less) strong! I chanced upon this in Watsons so i decided to give it a try!

I'm rather on the fence about this product! On one hand it does heal my pimples without scarring as promised, but on the other hand it takes agesssss to work. The result doesn't last long either, once i stopped using it for a few days those pesky zits came back again!! >.< Also, alcohol denat is one of the key ingredients!! Given that i'll only use this whenever i have zits, this is something that all of us should avoid using whenever we could!!

So in a nutshell, i guess i won't be repurchasing this again! The search for the Tea Tree Oil replacement goes on...
