Actual Product Pic:

Pigmentation & Color:

This concealer comes in 15 shades, 7 warm (NC) and 8 cool (NW) tones. Since i'm buying this primarily to cover my dark eye circles, i chose a NW shade, and am matched to NW20! :D

This concealer is really pigmented so you'll only need a tiny amount to cover your blemishes!

Texture & Scent:

This concealer is thick, so be careful not too apply too much otherwise it'll look cakey! See that amount on my finger in the above pic? it's enough to cover almost the entire back of my hand:

It spreads and blends really well, and i like that it doesn't settle into fine lines too! :D

This concealer has a weird plasticky scent that's not very pleasant, but thankfully it's really mild so i don't smell it on my skin! lol!

This concealer comes in a glass jar with a screw on lid, which i don't really like because of hygiene issues! :P

This is how big it is:

And the box it came in:

Time Test:
While it did fade a little, this concealer lasted more than 13 hours on my skin!! :D

Price & Availability:
This concealer is priced at US$16.50 / RM72 and is available at all MAC stores / counters as well as their website! :)

My $0.02:

I tried this one out at my counter when i checked out the Well Defined collection, and am pretty impressed with it! :D

This concealer, though thick, spreads on easily and doesn't settle into fine lines! Its also less drying that its Studio Finish counterpart!

Ok enough talking, here's a side by side comparision for ya! :D

Zits? Covered! Dark eye circles? Covered! Freckles? Almost covered! haha!! That's cuz i didn't want to apply too thick a layer on my cheeks, so i let them slide! XD

The only thing i didn't like about this one is that its a bit hard to blend. I gotta be careful to use just a bit of product each time and slowly build up the coverage, otherwise it'll look cakey. But the end result is so worth it! :D

All in all i really like this product, and i think i'll repurchase when it runs out, provided there's nothing new on the market that catches my eye at that time! hehehe!! :D

  1. I was wondering if it'd be okay to use this concealer on it's own, without putting any powder or anything on it after you apply it?I just don't wear powder or foundation, but I do have a problem with dark circles and I'm trying to find the best way to cover them up :)

  2. ah thanks for the review. i still have not bought the BB one, maybe i should go both places to test out to make sure that i get the best one

  3. wow..this concealer looks great! and it does cover the redness :)

  4. hm, hard to blend hor~ super sien la liddat~

i might want to give this a try! rm72 not bad ler! and i figure a little goes a long way.

my only problem is how to get a decent match! you know how MAC SA works sometimes...

  5. Great to see your concealer review! When I went to lancome to get my skin matched to the tinted moisturiser, they ended up trying to sell me a concealer! Sigh... Seriously girl, you have great skin! You dont need concealers!! You call those dark circles?? You should see mine... they're like purple!! Bad blood circulation... I'm not too keen on using foundation or concealer because the idea of it feels cakey and drying. I was hoping tinted moisturiser would perform it's magic.

I dont mind if it doesn't provide full coverage... as long as it's not purple!!! Girl, if only I can reduce the purple dark circles to the ones you have...I'd be so happy already !!! seriously, your dark circles are considered to be non existent in my eyes, you surely have high standards. hehehe I'm sure your hubby just think you are perfect as you are and so do I =) =) =)

Beware of SAs at counters... well, it's worse being in a white country with Caucasian SA. They seem to have different view of what shade matches Asian skin. My skin is similar to your and I was matched to Dore 03 and Concealer 03 from Lancome, I personally find them too dark.

It's frustrating because when I go to a different SA from same lancome counter, they matched me to 02.

The lancome concealers are a bit too drying for my skin. It does cover up my dark circles and red cheeks perfectly. ( I get burnt easily and my face goes pink !!! sometimes red!!! so annoying!!!) oh, dont know if you've seen those concealer pens, it's quite cool. Reminds me of a clicking paint brush. hehehe <== again, too drying for my skin.

We dont have sunplay here, recently I tried Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Sunblock. I quite like them because they give a matted finished but they are not as sheer as I like it....Eventhough it says it's waterproof. Girls, dont get water on them!!!It wont come off but it will become ghastly white... So you have to rub them in again !!!

Hey Jenn, how much coverage does BB cream have? would it cover up dark circles and red cheeks??? I dont mind if it's not full coverage as long as it does reduce its appearances. We dont have BB cream here, I'm not too familiar with Korean stores in Chinatown.

Anywayz, I got a day off and I have to study. Sigh~~~ it's no wonder my dark circles are worsening.. Cant wait until my exams finishes in a month.... I have to be good and stop coming to your blog everyday cuz I love it so much and sometimes i cant resist to say hi. lol...

So sorry if I'm talking to you in such familiar terms. lol.. It's just the way I am....=) *waves* to your fellow beauty bloggers, I love the fact you guys put in so much effort in looking beautiful =)

if you look great, you feel great !!! hahahaha love what you were borh with, perfect what you've got. =) =) =)

  6. very nice review! it does cover your freckles and dark circles.. too bad i already purchased the studiofinish concealer. still waiting for it to arrive..

  7. finally!! LOL :P

If this is hard to blend, then the studio finish concealer is even worst. :)

But I think it does a decent job on covering pimples XD

  8. Sojourner: It should be fine! But i'd highly recommend setting the concealer with at least some loose powder to get the most wear out of that application! ;)

  9. Xin: yeah, faster go check out and tell me which one you like better!! haha!! :D

  10. Nikki: yeah this one is pretty decent stuff! :D

  11. plue: haha, use just a little at one time and warm them up between your fingers should make it better la!

And trust your own eyes!! go check the shade out in natural light to get the best match! haha! :D

  12. Athena: hey girl!! *waves*

haha yeah i guess my dark circles are not as bad as they used to be!! i seriously have to thank the Lierac eye cream for that! lol!! :D

Oh dear, its terrible how different SAs tell you different things! Like i said to Plue, trust your own eyes! If you think it doesn't match you, then it probably doesn't!

Hmm... maybe you can check out the MAC Moisturecover concealer? It's packaged like a lipgloss and the concealer itself is pretty moisturizing. It doesn't cover as well as this concealer i've just reviewed, but that might fit what you're looking for! :D

Oh! Thanks for sharing! I was keen to try out that one out... until they launched their new sunblock range (the yellow boxes one... i can't for the life of me remember what their names are!)! But since i have quite a few samples of the Lancome sunblock to last me quite awhile, i don't think i'll be buying new ones soon! lol! :D

Hmmm... i think BB creams do offer a bit of coverage, but i think its best to try it out personally to see if it suits you! hehehe!! :D

Hahaha... all the best for your exams!! Don't worry, it'll be over before you know it! Then you can finally rest and relax! :D

Awww... you are too sweet!! I'm sure all of us blogger girls do appreciate that!! Thanks a bunch for the sweet words!! *hugs*

  13. Khymm: awww... don't worry, this one's kinda permenant so you can try it out once you finish using the SF one! :D When will it arrive? :D

  14. Sue: yaaaa... it's abit hard to blend la, but better than studio finish. the finish also better! not so dry looking! :)

but yeah, the coverage is perfect! :D

  15. just a quick question, nc is for warm skin tone and nw is for cool skin tone? i didn't knew that. i thought it was the other way around. as in c for cool and w for warm? i'm nw30 but i don't consider my tone to be cool, at all. ummm..

  16. I reviewed this product as well and am on the fence on this one. It covers great, but seems to accentuate dry skin.

  17. dmj: i was confused by this before too!! >.<

But for this concealer, i personally think that warm and cool may not be the best words to describe them... they're more like NC has more yellow, and NW has more pink tones in them.

Do google for more info... i think i've seen a youtube video by Tiffany D who explained this rather well! You may want to check that one out! HTHs! :D

  18. Fabuless Beauty: thanks for sharing!! I guess a good primer is crucial before applying this then for dry skinned babes! :D

  19. hi jenn! just wondering, have u also tried mac's studio finish concealer? and which one u liked better? thanks :)

  20. Hi Anon!! Yeah i've tried that one out a couple times before and i actually preferred this one because it is less drying! :D

  21. I really didn't like this concealer :-( I bought it along with studio sculpt foundation which I quite like but I made sure to tell the girl on the counter that I wanted a concealer suitable for dry skin and this drys out my skin like crazy even on my normal none dry skin days it just doesn't look natural and it turns into a dry cakey mess no matter how I apply it.
