Happiness is...

... receiving stuff in the mail:

...which i got from ebay at an amazing price! :D

Cloze up:

MAC Dame Edna High-light Powder in What a Dame! :D

Now my Spectacle! is not lonely anymore!! :D

Wheeeeee!! Uber Happy now!! :D

Tips for buying stuff off Ebay:

1. Always check the seller's rating! Beware of sellers with a alot of bad ratings (eg. people complaining about not receiving the item from seller / item is grossly misrepresented / etc)! Personally i won't transact with sellers whose positive rating is less than 98%.

2. Not everything on Ebay is cheap! Some are just outrageously priced. Always shop around for the best deals!

3. Beware of fakes! Always buy from sellers who offer money back guarantee on authenticity issues!

4. Do check the shipping charges before purchasing / bidding on the item. There are unscrupulous sellers out there who charge crazy amounts for shipping. It's simply NOT worth it!

5. If the seller offers insurance, take it! Most sellers will not be responsible for missing / damaged items if you do not purchase insurance. The extra dollar or two is well worth the headache you don't have to go through! :D

6. Always opt for shipping methods which can be traced. Items lost in post is not that common, but it can happen (especially with dishonest sellers who claim that they have posted the item out but you never recevied it!)!

I hope this helps some of you who're new to shopping on Ebay! :D Shopping on Ebay can be a fun thing to do, but it may also bring you unnecessary worry and frustrations if you're not careful! Just bear these tips in mind, and everything should go smoothly! Feel free to share more Ebaying tips with everybody too so that we can learn together!! :D

These go for RM25 each, and should be available at all Revlon displayers at most Watsons / Guardian / Your local supermarket! :D

What'd think of these shadows? :D

  • Suitable for infants and the elderly.

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:

This lotion is really runny, so be careful when you pour it out from the bottle! This is supposed to be fragrance free, but it has a very light scent! :)

The bottle i have is the 250ml one which comes with a flip top cap. There's also the 500ml and 1000ml pump bottle ones available!

The flip top cap:

I wish they would make the hole smaller, since this lotion is so runny!! :P

The one i have is the old packaging! They've changed their packaging to this since:

But don't worry, the ingredients are still the same! :)

Time Test:
This lotion sinks into your skin immediately, which is great! My skin feels moisturized for up to 4-5 hours before i feel the need to reapply.

Price & Availability:
This lotion is priced at RM28.90 (i don't know if they're raised the price or not since i bought this almost a year ago), and should be available at most pharmacies and some Watsons outlets! :)

I use this as a day moisturizer as it doesn't leave behind a sticky feeling! :)

My $0.02:

This is actually "prescribed" to my husband during his visit to a dermatologist for an allergy bout where his skin was itchy and peeling! I stole some of this to use, and i actually loved it!!

First up, it's really light and it doesn't leave a sticky feeling behind, which is great for our humid Malaysian weather (sticky lotions + humid weather = DISGUSTING!!! lol!)! It does a decent job at moisturizing the skin, and i love that the formulation is actually very skin friendly (good enough for Ezcema sufferers / Babies / the elderly!)! :)

This is also great for soothing itchy skin due to dryness!! I'm almost always in an air-conditioned room 24/7 so the dry skin on my legs can end up pretty scaly and itchy sometimes (especially after baths - doesn't help that i LOVE bathing in rather hot water! :P)! The relief i get from this lotion is instantaneous, and with constant use, my skin is smooth and moisturized again!! :)

So, the conclusion is, i will definitely repurchase this lotion once in a while, especially when i'm sick of all those heavily scented ones! :D

Silkygirl Blink Glitter Eyeliner & Precision Liquid Eyeliner Swatches

Here're the swatches for all the Silkygirl Blink Glitter Eyeliner and Precision Liquid Eyeliner! :D

I totally DO NOT recommend using the Blink Glitter liners AT ALL because 1, they do not go on evenly and 2, those glitter chunks DO FALL OUT!! That's definitely something you don't want anywhere near your eyes!! These liners go for RM13.90 each!

The Precision Liquid liner however, is AMAZING!! The felt tip offers maximum control, and the black is about as black as a black can get (lol!!)! :D I'm hoping that they release more colors (or at least, a brown!!)! :D This liner sells for RM16.90 each.

What do you think about these two products? :D

I decided to post this up because i actually kinda like the color combi!! haha! :D

Excuse the red marks on my forehead and nose... got too squeeze happy apparently with the blackhead remover loop! :P

Stuff i used:

Pond's Magic Powder

With Flash:

They should just make these liptints as lipsticks since they're quite pigmented!! lol!! :D They have a rather sweet smell too, so do check it out first if you do not like heavily fragranced products! :D

Product Review: Boots Mushroom & Ginseng Firming Body Scrub

UPDATED 23/4/10: They changed the labels for this item, and there's a slight difference in the ingredients! But it still smells, feels, and works the same to me! :D

Sorry, i couldn't find a stock photo online! :(

At a Glance:
Price: 140 Baht (approx. RM14.58 / US$4.05)
Weight: 150ml
Made in: Thailand
Likes: Pretty scrubby for a foaming scrub, exfoliates well, lovely scent!
Gripes: None
Repurchase: Yes!
Jenn's Rating: 4.5 Stars! Me Likey! :)

Product Description:

With natural extracts of mushroom and ginseng, Boots firming body scrub is specially formulated to exfoliate and firm your skin, whilst leaving it feeling soft, smooth and refreshed.

Actual Product Pic

Texture & Scent:

This scrub is like your usual foaming scrub, but it has lots of scrubby bits in it (more so than the usual ones!)! The apricot seed powders are just alright for me, but it may be a little harsh for those of you who prefer a gentler scrub! The scent smells like a mellowed down version of the CK be perfume from Calvin Klein, which is amazing!! :D

This scrub comes in a squeeze tube with a flip top cap.

The flip top cap:

The size of the dispensing hole is just nice to squeeze out the amount you like!!

The new packaging:

Price & Availability:
This scrub is priced at 140 Baht (approx. RM14.58 / US$4.05), and is available at all Boots outlets in Thailand.

I use this as a body scrub! Methinks that this is great to use prior to shaving too! :)

My $0.02:

I got suckered into buying this when i saw the Buy 1 Free 1 sale at Boots when i was in Bangkok! This was already on sale at 100 Baht (approx. RM10.42 / US$2.89) only, but to get another one free at that price is really a steal! :D

I didn't place much hope in this product because in my narrow mind, house brands usually suck! But this one really surprised me!

It's really scrubby despite being a foaming scrub (unlike some *koff TBS ones koffffff*), which is great for me because i prefer my scrubs that way!! Also, i like that it exfoliates well but doesn't dry out the skin! And finally, the scent is really nice - like i mentioned above, it smells like the mellowed down version of the old CK be perfume by Calvin Klein!! hehehe!! :D

I regret not buying more of this one when i was there!! But rest assured that i definitely will the next time i'm there! :D

Thank you so much...

... from the bottom of my heart!!

Thank you for all your kind words, encouragement, well wishes and emails! They really brightened up my day!! I'm really touched by how caring some of you are, and how some of you took the time to write me lovely emails!! They made me smile! :D

As for the husband, he's discharged from the hospital already (thank God!!!) and resting at home now. Pray that he gets well really soon... it breaks my heart to see him so weak and eating nothing but mouthfuls of milo o all day long! :(

With the husband tucked safely in bed back home, i guess i will have more time now, so transmission's back to almost normal!! Thank you so much once again for bearing with me and giving me your well wishes!! I truly appreciate it!! :D

Maybelline Angelfit Flawless Natural Liquid Foundation and Flawless Affinity Foundation Swatches

I've been getting quite a few emails regarding foundation matches for the Maybelline Angelfit liquid foundation so i've decided to swatch all the shades available here for you, and i hope this helps those of you who don't have access to the testers for this to choose a shade for yourself! :)

As usual, the swatches above are taken without flash, and the ones below, with! :)

From left: C01 Nude, W02 Natural Buff, N03, C03 Natural Ivory, W07 Apricot Sand

Read my review on this product here.

I'm NC20-25, and the best match for my skintone is W02 Natural Buff! I know i said in my review that the W02 Natural Buff shade is the darkest, but it seems like now they've released two even darker shades (N03 and W07 Apricot Sand), so there's hope afterall for tanned babes! :D

This foundation sells for RM39.90, and should be available at all Maybelline displayers at Watsons / Guardian / Your local supermarket! :D

And since i was already at it, i thought i may as well swatch the Flawless Affinity Foundation as well, so here it is! :D

From left: P01 Light Pink Ochre, OC0 Very Light Ochre, OC1 Light Ochre, OC2 Natural Ochre, OC3 Healthy Ochre, B02 Natural Beige Ochre

Upon swatching, this powder feels really soft and is quite fine!! Gotta love the SPF factor too!! I've never tried it out on my face personally, but click here to read what Tine of Beautyholics Anonymous has to say about this product! :D

Just in case you're wondering, the OC1 Light Ochre shade is the best match for me :)

This powder foundation goes for RM49.90 (they raised the price?!! :( ) each, and the refills go for RM35.90 each!

ps: click here if you're interested to see swatches for the Angelfit Brighten-up Blush! :D

Short hiatus...

Some of you may know that my husband has been hospitalized since yesterday for suspected dengue. His blood test came back negative for that, but he's still in the hospital for furhter observation until he gets better.

So in the meanwhile, i do apologize for not having the time to reply to your comments and emails! Rest assured that i will once the husband has been discharged from the hospital! There'll still be scheduled posts so don't worry!! :D

Health is really wealth, and all the money in the world can't buy that!! Please take care everyone! :)

Product Review: Nivea Visage Sparkling White Double Action Whitening Mask

Sorry, i can't find an official product pic of this one!! :(

At a Glance:
Price: RM8.90 (approx. US$2.40)
Weight: NA
Made in: China
Likes: No alcohol!!, moisturizes and softens well!
Gripes: A little expensive for Nivea standards, did not brighten my face! :(
Repurchase: No
Jenn's Rating: 4 Stars! Works well as a hydrating mask, but not as a brightening mask!

Aqua, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Trisodium EDTA, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Product Description

Intensive Whitening & Instant Hydrating to bring out your inner glow

Vitamins B3, B5 & Moisture Booster. Dermatologically tested.

Nivea Visage Sparkling White Double Action Whitening Mask is an intensive whitening treatment mask that works both on the surface and within the skin to bring out your inner glow:
  • Shaped to fit the face, each wet mask is soaked with a concentration of the powder combination of Vitamin B3, natural moisture booster and Pro Vitamin B5 to effectively lighten overall complexion and provides the skin with a moisture boost.
  • Vitamin B3 boosts skin's radiance, lightens dark spots and reduces uneven skin tone.
  • Enriched with the natural moisture booster, Glycerin, the skin cell's own moisture depot is deeply hydrated instantly.
  • Pro Vitamin B5 soothes and strengthens the natural resistance of the skin.
Result: Skin is hydrated and smooth. Your complexion is visibly fairer and radiant instantly.

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:
This mask is really, really wet!! I wiped my entire body with the used mask and it's still quite moist after that!! Thankfully the essence from the mask is kinda thick though (gel-like), so it doesn't drip! Surprisingly this does not leave a sticky feel behind although it's so thick! This product is perfume free, so it does not have any synthetic fragrance, but it does have the typical "fragrance free" scent though!!

This mask comes in a card board "envelope" thingy housing it!! The mask itself is wrapped in the usual foil pack:

And for once, i found a mask that fits my face almost perfectly!!! :D

Time Test:
15 minutes is all you need! :)

Price & Availability:
This mask is priced at RM8.90 each and should be available at most Watsons / Guardian outlets as well as your local supermarkets! :D

Since this does not brighten the face, i think it is more suited to use as a hydrating mask!

My $0.02:

This is the other Nivea mask i bought to try!! :D

While this one did moisturize my face as well as the Aqua Sensation mask, it did not brighten as well as the latter despite this being a BRIGHTENING mask!

This is how i look after using this mask:

ok, stop staring at them spots already... T_T

Compared to Aqua Sensation mask:

Did Nivea mix the two up?!! *slaps forehead* Or ginseng works better than Vitamin B3 to brighten the skin for meself? lol!! :P

Anyhoo, i won't be repurchasing this since it's kinda pointless! Shall stick to the
My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask for brightening then! :D
