Jenn Asks: Do you think Blue Eye Shadows are appropriate for the office?
I personally love blue shadows so i wear them quite often to the office but i've definitely gotten some stares and questions like "going dating tonight?" so it makes me wonder if they're suitable for the office or not!!
I think it depends on the hue of blue, if it's dark "almost black or grayish" color, they would think you do have a party or date at night time, I think blues are ok but not the strong kind when you're at work :)
kavukz: thanks for your input!! hmmm... i think i gotta start looking into buying a couple of matte shades for work!! most of my shadows are shimmery! :D
you're being too kind girl!! i'm pretty sure that they must find me odd / strange to wear such bright colors to work!! hahaha!! :P
I tell you something funny. One of my students asked his form teacher if she's pregnant cos she's wearing nice e/s. Why did he ask? Cos I started wearing e/s when I became pregnant! Haha... Anyway, blues are nice for brown eyes, and I think how it is worn makes all the difference. ^_^
Actually depends on the office culture, if the people doesn't really make up in the office, normally they'll look at you as if some kind of alien if you are wearing some bright colors. hahaha.
I do have a colleague who wears hot pink eyeshadow to work :D And it does take some courage to bring it on as well. :P
oops. Digress abit, blue is okay and a nice color to wear to work. At least it brightens up our skintone and our mood to work too! :D
Sue: Hmmm... yeah i guess it depends on the office culture too!! There're quite a few girls who wear makeup to work, but as usual very few of us actually wear bright colors, so naturally we'll stand out like a sore thumb!! hehehe!! :D
Wow... hot pink!! that's one color that i can't really carry off, so kudos to your colleague! :D
jenn i wear blue to the hospital like no one's business...(the hospital IS my office anyway) n people seem to be okay w that..some frens n patients have asked me how 2 do such eye makeup!
so,yeah..blue is always appropriate..actually,im a fan of colors..i do wear oranges n yelllows there too..haha
Kay, i'm sure you'll make a darn hot doctor!! hehehe!! :D I'll want my doctor to spot bright colors too... it'll definitely cheer me up... unless he's male! hahaha!! :D
I guess it depends on what you wear for work. If you wear a uniform which hasn't a smidgen of blue in it, then I'd say no. In my previous workplace, the uniform was purple (think Barney), and the company secretary wore blue eyeshadow to work with that purple garb for goodness-knows-how-many-years. That would be an absolute NO NO.

ReplyDeleteagree with nikki! I think those pastel blues will look absolutely fine for work days but not like bright teal or dark blue smokey eyes.
ReplyDeletebut then again. people are ignorant! they see something other than brown, they'd freak out -_-
agreed with both Nikki & Connie..depending on what type of blue u are using..and i guess its better still if its a matte color?
ReplyDeleteto me, glitters or shimmery shadows suit nite out the most..:P
just be confident wearing it.being stares? tat means u pull it off better than them! they jz being envy..lolz
Nikki: thanks for your input!! I'll keep that in mind next time!! hehe!! :D
ReplyDeleteConnie: i KNOW!! anything other than browns will bring on those stares and comments!! >.<
ReplyDeleteBut then again i'm guilty of wearing bright teals and blues to work... :P
