Jenn Asks: Do you think Blue Eye Shadows are appropriate for the office?

I personally love blue shadows so i wear them quite often to the office but i've definitely gotten some stares and questions like "going dating tonight?" so it makes me wonder if they're suitable for the office or not!!

What'dya think? :D

  1. I think it depends on the hue of blue, if it's dark "almost black or grayish" color, they would think you do have a party or date at night time, I think blues are ok but not the strong kind when you're at work :)

  2. agree with nikki! I think those pastel blues will look absolutely fine for work days but not like bright teal or dark blue smokey eyes.

but then again. people are ignorant! they see something other than brown, they'd freak out -_-

  7. I tell you something funny. One of my students asked his form teacher if she's pregnant cos she's wearing nice e/s. Why did he ask? Cos I started wearing e/s when I became pregnant! Haha...
Anyway, blues are nice for brown eyes, and I think how it is worn makes all the difference. ^_^

  13. Actually depends on the office culture, if the people doesn't really make up in the office, normally they'll look at you as if some kind of alien if you are wearing some bright colors. hahaha.

I do have a colleague who wears hot pink eyeshadow to work :D And it does take some courage to bring it on as well. :P

oops. Digress abit, blue is okay and a nice color to wear to work. At least it brightens up our skintone and our mood to work too! :D

  14. @Jenn: Yah, cos I went from no makeup at all in 2008 to full makeup in 2009.

@Sue: Most of the people in my office do not use makeup but they loved my new look!

  15. Sue: Hmmm... yeah i guess it depends on the office culture too!! There're quite a few girls who wear makeup to work, but as usual very few of us actually wear bright colors, so naturally we'll stand out like a sore thumb!! hehehe!! :D

Wow... hot pink!! that's one color that i can't really carry off, so kudos to your colleague! :D

  19. I guess it depends on what you wear for work. If you wear a uniform which hasn't a smidgen of blue in it, then I'd say no. In my previous workplace, the uniform was purple (think Barney), and the company secretary wore blue eyeshadow to work with that purple garb for goodness-knows-how-many-years. That would be an absolute NO NO.

If it's Casual Fridays, yeah why not? :P

  20. Hehehehe... purple and blue is definitely off!! :D :D

My previous company lets us wear whatever we wanted to, so i thought it's alright to spot blue shadows... apparently not!! hehehe!!:D
