Just a little update!

So i said i'm finally back online... thanks to the dearest husband who got me this:

the Huawei E156G modem! :D

And of course, its powered by the Celcom mobile broadband, with the max speed of up to 3.6gbps 70kbps!! And that's the MAX i've experienced so far!! Today's speed is:

Fastest speed konon!! *pulls hair*And thats not all... i couldn't connect to the server for the whole of yesterday evening, and let's not even get me started on the customer service helpline person!!

Ok, enough ranting for now and let's go onto happier things! hehehe!! I've been pigging out like a good Penang girl should, and of course, have done a little shopping! :D

My first stop was Watsons to get my essentials:

Pads, Silkywhite Magic Face Powder, Nivea Extra Whitening Milk Repair, Head & Shoulders shampoo (the husband's), Elseve Damage Care Repairing Shampoo, Lactacyd Feminine Wash, Listerine (man this is NASTY!!), Garnier Light Whitening Infusion Tissue Mask, Elseve Smooth-Intense Ultra Rich Leave-in Mask, Pantyliners, Garnier Pure SOS Blemish Clear Pen, Bayer Aspirin, Veet Wax Strips, Watsons Bird's Nest Essence Facial Mask.

Then i went on some kinda accessory frenzy and bought these:

From Forever21:

From Diva (everything only RM8!! Wheee!!)

From left: Elements, Momoe, Momoe, Forever21

After this, i went into FOS, not planning to buy anything because i really shouldn't be buying anymore clothes already due to luggage constraints!! Still, i cannot resist these super soft tops:

Tanks from American Eagle, Smocked tube from Hollister Co., Hoodie from Aeropostale

I got a free shopping bag too! lol!

And of course, i HAD to pay the MAC store a visit! lol! I stuck to my shopping list and only left with these:

The Cleanse-off Oil, #239, #219

Those are my buys within a week of coming back! hehehe!! :D I also checked out the following new stuff:

1.Majolica Majorca:

them shadows are really pigmented!! They could be a little less powdery, but still, it is a great drugstore buy! The blushes are gorgeous too!!

Pssst: the eyeshadows are going for only RM16.72 now at Watsons, so go grab your favourite ones now! :D This offer ends on 15th Feb.

2. L'Occitane - I was shopping for a gift when i stumbled upon their hand creams! They're sooo moisturizing and the scent is just DIVINE!!

and this:

are definitely going into my lemming list!! :D

3. The TBS Japanese Cherry Blossom line:

I didn't quite like the scent - i thought it was a little too powdery floral for my liking! I was, however, quite impressed by the Moroccan Rose line!!

The scent is really lovely and i love how light the body milk is!! :D

4. GAP - i've got my eyes set on this scarf:

in yellow!! It's sooo soft and methinks that it goes with most colors! :D Me do not like the price though!!

Ok, enough about shopping! lol! As for myself, the day i got back to Penang, i was down with this (Thanks to no sleep for about 30 hours, plus the weather difference!):

and this:

Thankfully, i've recovered since then!! :D

That's all for now!! Gosh, this entry was written since the 24th... no thanks to Celcom... it took me AGES to upload all the pics!! *slaps forehead* I have so many things to blog about, but so little time!! So stay tuned!! Slowly but surely they'll be available to you girls!! :D

The Worst Bank of the Century Award goes to...

*Caution: Long rant ahead, read only when you have time*

When i was still in India, i forgot my Maybank2u login password, so after 3 failed attempts, i got locked out of the system. I called up the customer service line from freakin India and was put on hold for like forever before somebody picked up (can you hear the call charges go tick tick tick already?!!!). That somebody verifed my info, and i was told that there was nothing i could do then because my Maybank2u account was removed due to inactivity. I have to personally go to the ATM machine to reapply the stupid online access thing again. Fine. After i came back, i did just that, banked in some $$$, and even attempted to login and do a transfer at the kiosk in the bank just to test the stupid TAC thingy, and it worked just fine. But when i actually wanted to transfer the money, it CANNOT BE DONE:

Irritated, i called up the customer service line once again, and was put on hold by someone who claims that he knows nothing about Maybank2u transactions because he is from the credit card department! What the?!! I specifically selected the Maybank2u related matters option... why put an agent that is from the freakin' credit card department on?!! Nvm that, Mr. Credit Card here put me on hold for SO LONG until i hung up!! I then dialed that stupid number again, and was this time served by the correct person (FINALLY!!!). The lady told me that actually my bank account itself was frozen due to inactivity, thats why i'm not able to do the transfer!!!

I'm freakin' pissed because:
1. They can't diagnose the problem right the first time... making me waste a trip to the bank.
2. The customer service line sucks... it takes eons before somebody picks up.
3. And when somebody does pickup, it is the wrong guy from the wrong freakin department who knows nothing about the option you've just picked from the menu!!
4. WHY do they ACCEPT my deposit when my account is already frozen?!!! Take money time can lah, when i wanna take out MY money time cannot lah!!! @#$&!!!!!

Let's not even talk about the time when my $$$ got deducted from the account already when i did a withdrawal at the ATM (it was quite a significant sum, must i add), but the machine did not dispense the money!!! I tell you, my stress level shot up like 1000% at that time!!

Soooo, the conclusion is, MAYBANK SUCKS!!! I'm SERIOUSLY considering closing my account already!!! ARGH!!! >.<

Just a short update: I've reached home safely, albeit a little tired!! Though India and Penang is only 5 hours away, the time difference and the bad turbulence plus no sleep for the entire night got my system a little wonky! Don't worry, i'll bounce back pretty soon... after a hearty bowl of Char koay teow and a good night's rest that is! hehehehe!! :D

ps: i MAY be able to get internet connection after all! Will update soon ya! :D For now, i better get off riding on other people's connection! SORRY whoever that is! lol! :P :P

Product Description

Vitamin C.

^^Yup, that's all they said about it! :P

Actual Product Pic:

Sorry, the text on the lid is kinda faded!! :P

Pigmentation & Color:

I'm using the lightest shade, which is the 01 Light translucent shade. This may look very light in the pic above, but once applied on it just blends into my skin really naturally!!

Like all loose powders, the coverage for this one is very sheer, so do use a foundation underneath if you need more coverage! :)

Texture & Scent:

This powder is quite finely milled for a drugstore product!! It goes on really buttery smooth!! There used to be a very faint citrusy smell when i first bought it, but the scent has long disappeared! :)

This powder comes in a slightly opaque plastic container with a removable plastic sift.

It comes with a rather soft sponge too! :D

The sponge applies the powder quite well, but for best results, i recommend applying this with a kabuki brush or a big fluffy brush to set your makeup with!! :D

Tip: to avoid from dispensing too much powder everytime you tip the container over, do not peel off the sticker covering the holes on the sifter when you first buy it! Instead, use a needle and pierce the sticker over each hole on the sifter!

Looks something like this:

Looks like this on the other side:

So instead of letting the powder flow through the large holes on the sifter, the powder will go through the smaller holes on the sticker. This way, you'll definitely have more control over the amount of powder dispensed!

Time Test:
This powder lasts about 4-6 hours on my face (depending on the weather) before it disappears, which is alright. I don't have a problem with shine for most days since i'm almost always in an air conditioned room (back in Malaysia anyways! :D), so i actually don't know how long can this powder control the oilies for! :)

Price & Availability:
This powder is priced at RM55 (approx. US$15), and should be available at the Loreal makeup shelves at most Watsons / Guardian or your local supermarket! :)

I'm a lazy girl, so i usually use this in place of foundation! :P I also use this to set my makeup!! Last but not least, i sometimes apply a thick layer of this loosely unto my lower lids to catch any shadow fallouts when i'm doing a smokey eye! :)

My $0.02:
This is actually an excellent drugstore product!! Though it is not exactly cheap for drugstore standards, you're definitely getting your money's worth with this. I use this almost on a daily basis for more than 3 years, and i hardly go through 1/3 of the tub:

I have THIS much left after 3 years!!

Also, i love how glowy my face looks when i have this on! It's not shimmery, in fact, it is rather matte, but it somehow makes my face impart this, hmm, soft focus glow? lol! I love how finely milled this is too!! This is definitely a drugstore gem IMHO, but i heard it's getting harder and harder to find nowadays? I sure hope that they don't discontinue this wonderful product!

Actual Product Pic:

The box they came in:

Open sesame:

Texture & Scent:
The essence is rather runny, so it spread easily unto your freckles! The scent is similar to the other moisturizers in this range - a light perfumey scent that is rather pleasant. The patch is VERY flimsy though... so handle it with care!!

This treatment comes in a cardbox! You get a 15ml essence and 8 sachets of the patch, each sachet containing 5 patches!

The essence comes with a pump dispenser, which is great! :D

The patches:

Time Test:
It took me about 5 minutes to use this mask, sometimes even more!! I usually use this before i sleep though, and the patch did stay on for more than 8 hours! :)

Price & Availability:
This treatment is priced at RM330 (approx. US$92), so it's on the expensive side! It's available at most Lancome counters in Asia, and on! :)

I use this treatment 2x a week as per instruction. Here's a simple tutorial on how to put it on:

Prior to using this treatment:
Apply your toner, moisturizer, serum, etc. Also, you MUST apply a whitening night cream for this to work. At first i didn't believe the SA when she told me that (cuz i thought she was just hardselling the night cream to me!!), but for 4 weeks i didn't see any result, simply because i didn't use the night cream! It was only after I used the night cream that i can see the difference!! :P Ok, after the night cream has been absorbed into your skin,

GENTLY is the keyword here!! The patch is VERY thin and flimsy, so be careful not to let it curl up! You're gonna have a field day trying to "spread" them out again once they're "folded" together!! *tears hair out*

Tip: If the area you're treating is smaller than the patch, you can cut the patch up into smaller pieces like i do! :)

Repeat on other areas that you wish to treat.

Wait, you're not done yet!

Again, GENTLY is the keyword here!! You don't want to make the patch ball up!! (Contrary to what the leaflet says, the patch does not melt completely!! So don't waste your time!!). After this, you may go to bed! lol!! Just remove the patch the next morning and wash your face as usual! :)

My $0.02:
Up till this morning before i took the "after" pics, i was pretty disappointed with this treatment because it did not appear to do anything for my freckles. It was after i saw the before / after comparison pics that i realised that it DID made a difference! It worked sooo slow and gradually that i did not notice the change! :)

Ok, talk is cheap, i'll let the pictures do the convincing:

Right Cheek:

Left Cheek:

As you can see, most spots have been lightened! :) But because the effects are so gradual, I failed to notice it! I have 5 patches left to go before i finish this treatment. After this, I MAY repurchase! The price is making me think twice though (It's RM8.25 per treatment, so its not so bad if you think of it that way! But STILL, you'll have to fork out that money up front! lol!). But if i DO get a second box, i'll definitely update the outcome at the end of it!! :)
