I'm ending the year...

... with a BANG, thanks to the wonderful Connie of Skin Deco! :D

I won the Set A of her Christmas giveaway! Whooot!!

Now i have never won any contests before... i 'm the kind who will never win anything despite submitting multiple entries one, so i'm extremely elated!! :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks Connie!! *squeals*

How Time Flies...

... and before you know it, the year is almost over already! It's kinda like my "tradition" to reflect on the past year, and make some resolutions for the next which i never keep but nvm that, so here it is! :D

Read my 2008 resolutions here.

Overall i would say that my 2008 has been pretty eventful! I quit my job of 4.5 years, got married, relocated to another country and i get to experience life as a "lady of leisure" (albeit a very poor one! lol!!)!! I also finally moved back home to live with my parents after living on my own for a few years, which some of you probably know already. After all the pain, tears and a whole lot of mixed emotions, i'm really glad that it all happened for a reason! All in all i really praise God and marvel at His timing for everything... i couldn't ask for more really!

So let's see how well did i fare in keeping my resolutions for 2008 (those in red means oh uh...):

- LOSE WEIGHT!!!
I would love to believe that i actually achieved something (i realllly did try!!), but the sad thing is that the weighing scales don't lie T_T So i guess it's official, my high metabolic rate has gone AWOL and is probably never coming back... noooooooooooooooo!!

- improve language skills
Tak jadi :P Blame it on the procastinator in me!! I reaaaally wanna learn Thai! Hope to be able to find a great tutor when i go back for good!

- try not to take things for granted
I do think that i made a significant improvement... i hope the people around me do notice it! :D Still, i'm doing my very best to improve myself further!!

- spend less money on makeup
Oh gosh, i actually almost TRIPLED the amount i spent on makeup compared to 2007... somebody smack me already please!!!

- buy less on impulse!!

This is definitely NOT practised for most of the year!! (Again, somebody smack some sense into me already!!!). But to be fair, i'll have to say that towards the end of the year, i'm being really selective of what i buy liao!! Really one!!

- revive my beauty blog
Yesh, yesh! :D

- be a better person
I'm still trying my very best!! Methinks that i 'm definitely still work in progress!!

Oh dear, only 2 resolutions kept / achieved this year out of 7!!! Next year definitely have to jia you already! Anyhooo, that's not stopping me from making MORE resolutions for next year! lol!! Methinks that having a list of things to achieve certainly makes one work harder and keeps that person on his / her toes!

So, here's my list of resolutions for 2009 (fingers crossed that i'll be able to achieve them all!! lol!!):

1. To finish using all these lotions so that i can buy more:

2. To be more selective of what i buy (especially when it comes to MAC... i have this nasty habit of buying things just because it's LE!!)!

3. To excercise more often and tone up!! I'm getting really flabby!! Yikes!!

4. If everything goes as planned, to find a job once we get back! :)

5. To develop my own dressing style! I need a new wardrobe (notes to self: you are no longer 18...)!

6. To spend significantly less on makeup than this year!! I hope not to exceed that X amount that i've set for myself!

7. To learn how to apply eyeshadow properly!! I just can't apply eyeshadow nicely past my creaseline to save my life!!

8. To stop ABUSING my EYEBROWS! They look like crap now... somebody confiscate my tweezers already!!

9. To care less about what people think. I can't please everybody!

That's all!! Hope i'll be able to achieve them all!! :D That being said,

HAPPY 2009 PEOPLE!! I wish all of you and your families a wonderful, joyful and meaningful year ahead!! May all your dreams and resolutions come true!! Let's jia you together k!! :D

Actual Product Pic:

Texture & Scent:
This is your typical sheet mask! It is slightly thinner than the ZA True White Essence Mask. This being fragrance free has a weird chemical smell, but it's quite light so i'm alright with it.

Packaging:

This mask comes in a cardbox box of 5! Each mask is individually packed in their respective foil packs!

Time Test:
15 minutes is all you need for beautifully moist skin! :D

Price & Availability:
At RM36 (approx. US$10) per box, it is not exactly cheap, but it's definitely affordable! This mask is available at most Watsons / Guardian and some supermarkets!

Usage:
I use this mask 1-2x weekly, especially after using the Aspirin Mask.

My $0.02:
This has officially replaced the ZA True White Essence Mask as my favourite sheet mask!! It's more moisturizing, is alcohol free, and cheaper too!! The only complaint i have about this mask is that it doesn't fit my small face as well as the ZA one:

Still, it's a really great drugstore mask that i'd recommend everyone! :D

Actual Product Pic:

Pigmentation & Color (Plus Swatches! :D):
This gloss looks really red in the tube, but is actually a Raspberry Red with Red Pearl as described on the MAC website! It is quite pigmented so one coat is all I need for the color to show on my lips!

Swatch from the MAC Website:

Actual color:

On my lips:

Texture & Taste:
Like the Baby Sparks Dazzleglass, this one does not have the gritty feeling common with glittery lipglosses too. In fact, it just feels like your usual lipgloss! I know alot of people complain about how sticky the Dazzleglasses are, but personally i feel it is alright. It is definitely stickier than your usual Lipglass, but not overly so. Just be careful to not get hair stuck on your lips whenever the wind blows! lol! It has a lovely faint Vanilla scent, but no taste.

Packaging:

This gloss comes in a tube which is longer than the Lipglasses. Do not be fooled though, you're actually getting alot less product than the usual Lipglasses!

Lipglass: 4.8g / 0.17 US Oz.
Dazzleglass: 1.92g / 0.06 US Oz.!! (That's less than half the amount of a Lipglass!!)

This lipglass comes with a brush attached to the cap:

Time Test:
This gloss lasted over 6 hours on my lips, which is really great!

Price & Availability:
This gloss is priced at RM70 / US$17.50 / Rs. 1040, which is a little more expensive than the usual lipglass. This is actually repromoted (and raised by US$1) from the original Dazzleglass collection in May with the Red She Said collection. It is LE, but word goes that the Dazzleglasses will make yet another comeback in Spring next year, so we shall see! :) Do grab this while you can though! It's available at all MAC counters and on Maccosmetics.com.

Usage:
I love pairing this over the Crazee lipstick!! Methinks that this will look good over all red lipsticks. Its also great for adding some color to pale colored lipsticks!

My $0.02:

I am a HUGE FAN of the Dazzleglasses! They come in different colors and are just so pretty!! Given that it's quite expensive for the small amount you get, it's still a worthy buy because it is so much prettier than the usual lipglasses!! :D I love how the glitters are not OTT , so these are definitely office safe. I'll definitely be back to purchase more colors! I'm crossing my fingers that they bring back the Comet Blue one... i'm dying to try that out! ;)

For a lipbalm with SPF, this one is especially moisturizing!! I love how it kept my lips soft and plump! Also, the relieve i get once i apply this unto my chaps is almost instantaneous! The only downside this has that i can think of is that it takes slightly longer to heal your chapped lips. Still, it is a great lipbalm that i would recommend! :)

(Please excuse the tattered packaging! I kept this in my purse together with my keys! :P)

Texture & Taste:

As you can see from the pic above, this lip balm is really soft and gooey! It spreads on smoothly, but it sits on your lips for sometime before it sinks in! The cocoa butter scent is REALLY strong! It smells really yummy at the beginning, but after awhile i got really sick of the scent!!

This lipbalm the usual twist up tube with a plastic cap. I much preferred this packaging over the pots!! I love how portable these are! :)

Time Test:
This lipbalm lasted the whole night on my lips, which is about 8 hours!

Usage:
I wear this lipbalm to sleep almost every night. It keeps my lips soft and moisturized! I also apply this to the nasty chaps around my lips.

My $0.02:

This lipbalm is probably one of the best i've tried before! :D It's really moisturizing and it gets rid of the chaps and flakies in a jiffy! I love that this comes in a tube too!! The only thing i don't like about it is the strong scent!! It gets really sickly sweet sometimes! I hope they tone down the scent! Phew! That being said, i'll still repurchase this because i love how effective this is! :)
